It’s that age old problem isn’t it? Blogging is a great idea, but when you get down to it, it’s tough to think up fresh content.
Well, help is at hand! Hopefully some of these ideas will help inspire some blog posts for your small business:
- Opinions on industry topics – ever feel frustrated or annoyed by something that is happening in your industry? Blog about it! The more controversial the better!
- New employees – this might sound a bit dull, but if you’ve got a new employee, why not get them to introduce themselves on the blog. It doesn’t have to be too dry and boring
- Guest bloggers – are there other bloggers that you admire and you think your readers would find interesting? Why not invite them to blog on your site. You never know, they might return the favour
- Respond to another blog post – has another blogger written something that you strongly agree (or disagree) with? Why not write a response, remembering of course to link back
- Report the news – if there is something in the news that directly affects your industry or business sector, then why not cover it on the blog. You could even add your own thoughts, views and commentary
- Product or service announcements – are you launching a new product or revealing a service update? Cover it on the blog and give some more background to what it is all about
- Tips and advice – we all love a top tips article (you are reading one now!), so why not do the same
- Marketing campaigns – are you running any marketing campaigns at the moment, maybe a product promotion for example? Make sure you blog about it, so your readers can take advantage
- Case studies – do you have customers or clients that are really enjoying your products or services? Why not interview them on your blog?
- Article posts – these are a great way to add regular, useful content. Every week, simple write a short post that rounds-up other interesting articles from across the web. Quick, useful and easy!
