With over 60m people worldwide on Twitter, finding interesting new followers can be a bit of a challenge.
Thankfully, there are a number of innovative little tools that will help you quickly find and follow Twitter users based on interests or area for example. We’ve picked out five of the best!
(Don’t forget to follow @social_smallbiz if you aren’t already!)
Tlists – http://beta.tlists.com/ – Tlists lets you discover and create Twitter lists. Twitter lists is a new feature that Twitter introduced last year, but there is no native feature on Twitter yet to allow you to search for lists that might be of interest. This easy to use little website therefore fills a nice little gap!
Twendly – http://twendly.com/ – Twendly is deceptively simple – it allows you to search for Twitter users by a range of different search parameters – e.g. hashtag, user name, subject, product etc. Anyone can be found, but you can also register so that you and your followers can be indexed and added to the database
Twellow - http://www.twellow.com/ – Twellow is very like Twendly in many ways, but brings that extra bit of sophistication that some users might appreciate. Not only can you search for new Twitterers to follow, you can also perform analysis of you own followers and friends to see who they follow. Again, as with Twendly, don’t forget to add yourself to the index
Who Should I follow – http://www.whoshouldifollow.com/ – WhoShouldiFollow was designed to find other interesting people to follow on Twitter. Whether new to Twitter or just looking to get more out of it, WhoShouldiFollow can suggest people who are similar those you already follow
Just Tweet It – http://justtweetit.com/ – Just Tweet It was created to make it easier for people using the popular micro-blogging service to find other “Tweeters” with similar interests
