Because of the retweet feature, it is usually quite easy to see how far your tweet has been shared or distributed on Twitter. But, if you have a page on Facebook, it’s almost impossible. Until now that is.
Last week, Facebook started rolling out a tool called Post Insights. It is a new feature that lets you see the number of impressions and feedback for each post that you share on your page.
If you’ve had it added to your account, you’ll start to see a little numerical figure under the posted item.
It’s not very sophisticated, but it is an interesting move and suggests that Facebook is gearing itself up to be more focused on providing additional services to businesses that are looking to use pages to market to their customers or prospects.
With business accounts likely to come to Twitter at some point this year, it seems as though the social networks are waking up to the commercial possibilities inherent in their services.
The Facebook tool is free for now.
Do you have it on your page yet? Let us know what you think.
