Facebook is one of the world’s most popular social networks with more than 350 million users. The chances are therefore that at least a proportion of your audience, no matter who they are, use the site.
What’s more, 50% of active users log in to the site every single day – that’s quite an impressive statistic.
With more than a million active fan pages out there, how do you make yours stand out from the crowd and really engage with your visitors? Here are our top tips for small businesses looking to supercharge their Facebook Fan page:
- Engage – don’t just broadcast information, communicate directly with your users by replying to their comments and/or starting discussions that they can contribute to
- Provide great content – it goes without saying that again, as with so much social media marketing, content is key. If you provide great content, then your fans will share it with their friends and your fan base will grow
- Provide unique content – try to provide content on your Facebook page that your fans can’t get elsewhere. Make it exclusive
- Give special offers – make them feel as though they are part of a special club – give them offers and discounts that are exclusive to them
- Ask questions – ask for feedback, ask challenging questions. This will make your fans feel as though they are a valued part of what you are doing
- Run competitions – we all love a good competition. Encourage your fans to share the competition with their friends so that you can continue to build up your fan base
- Encourage sharing – don’t be afraid to ask your fans to share your content. If it is good enough, you’ll be surprised how willing they are to help
- Don’t be too vocal – As with all these things, there is a balance to be struck. So don’t overload your fans with content. Post new items regularly but not too often
