The Twitter lists feature allows users to create groups of Twitterers according to a particular common theme or link. But how can small businesses use this feature more effectively?
Here are some of our thoughts:
- Employee directory – create a list of all your employees that are on Twitter and encourage your followers to follow them too – your employees can be your best marketing tool after all! Just make sure you have appropriate social media policies in place
- Create an industry list – build a list that comprises all the leading tweeters in your industry or sector. This will encourage them to follow you and might even become established as the leading list for your industry
- Events – if you are having an event or perhaps if you are attending an industry event, you can create a list of all attendees so that it is easy for anyone interested to follow – whether they were at the event or not
- Partners – do you have a preferred partner list? What not build a group of them on Twitter so your clients or customers can follow them too?
- Location – is location important to your business? Make a list of top tweeters in your area to help build a sense of community and position your brand right at the heart of it
- Theme – is there a theme or subject that you want to align your brand to? Make a list of all the key people on Twitter that relate to thi
- Bloggers or thought-leaders – why not curate a list of all the influential bloggers and/or thought-leaders in your industry. This is not just a great way to reach out to these people, but it will also become a useful resource for your customers and prospects
How else have you used Twitter lists in your business? What success have you achieved?
