You know the feeling – you’ve built your blog and started posting updates, but the traffic just isn’t coming! Well, social media can really help here.
Linkedin is often one of the more ignored social networks, but, for small businesses in particular, Linkedin can generate quality traffic to your blog. Here are a few suggestions:
- Add you blog to your profile - it might seem an obvious one, but so many people fail to add their blog to their Linkedin profile. Businesses can do this too with their business profile. Anyone visiting their profile will be more likely to click through
- Update your status with your new posts - just like you would on Twitter or Facebook, you can quickly and easily update all your connections with your latest posts by simply updating your profile. You can even integrate this with Twitter to make life even easier!
- Post new posts to relevant groups - if you are a member of groups associated with your industry or sector then consider posting your new posts that you think are relevant to the group page – remember to check back to see if there is a discussion brewing
- Add your RSS feed to groups you manage - Linkedin Groups allow you the ability to automatically add your new posts to the news page everytime you update by linking to your RSS feed. You’ll want to be carefull how you use this so as not to put off your group followers
- Add a blog app to your profile - Linkedin now provides a number of apps to quickly let you add your blog posts to your profile page. There is a specific app for WordPress blogs and another for Typepad. You can add this through your profile page
