Persuasion PR is a North East based public relations consultancy which has been supporting clients regionally and nationally for the last 22 years. Speedy and efficient services are built upon solid and influential relationships with the business community, the public sector and the media.
How do you use social media as a business?
We are relatively new to social media, but have taken advantage of Twitter to network, raise awareness of who we are and what we do and have access to instant breaking news.
What are your business/marketing objectives for social media?
To raise our own profile and that of our clients. To take advantage of this new growing social trend.
Do you measure the success of your social media marketing? If so, how?
Yes we look at the number of hits on our website and use Google Analytics as a monitoring tool.
How does social media fit in with the other marketing your company does?
It complements our communications programmes we find it very useful for identifying topical issues for which we can put clients forward to comment.
Do you have plans to increase your use of social media in 2010?
Yes, we will be looking into SEO in the near future.
What would be your top 3 tips for businesses looking to get involved in social media?
- Do your research – is it beneficial to your business or target market?
- Keep it professional – don’t tweet about the downfall of your personal life
- Keep it interesting and topical
