Research from Hubspot has revealed the effect of having a profile picture on your Twitter profile.
The company looked at Twitter profiles with and without pictures and found that those with avatar images have on average 10 times as many followers.

Whilst this revelation isn’t particularly surprising, it does quite clearly demonstrate the importance of bringing life and colour to your social networking profiles. Chances are that those who have taken the time to add an image are also more likely to have spent more time using the service and cultivating a following.
The question for small businesses might be what the best image is – a logo or a person’s face. What do you think?
